Literacy CyberSpace Mission Statement


The purpose of this site is to give adult learners web-based access to adult education instruction, work readiness skills, information on area support services, and family literacy information. This site is designed for adult learners with educational skills below the ninth grade in reading, writing and math. It is recommended that a mentor facilitate the learning process with the student.

Directed and developed by Okaloosa-Walton College, the Literacy CyberSpace project was funded by the Florida Department of Education, Division of Workforce Development. Literacy CyberSpace was piloted in all fifteen (15) Region 1 counties in the Northwest Panhandle of Florida: Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Leon, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington.
